충남 천안시가 오는 8월부터 다함께돌봄센터를 이용하는 모든 아동에게 무료 급식을 제공한다고 밝혔다.

돌봄 사각지대를 해소하기 위해 만들어진 다함께돌봄센터는 맞벌이 가구 등 돌봄 취약가구 자녀들을 대상으로 초등학교 정규교육 이외 시간 동안 틈새 돌봄을 실시하고 있다. 

아이들의 안전을 위해 집과 학교 근거리에서 학습과 놀이 지원 등 돌봄서비스를 제공해 촘촘한 마을 돌봄 기능을 수행하고 있다. 

그동안 다함께돌봄센터 이용자는 월 이용료와 별도로 급·간식비를 부담해왔으나 학교 내 초등돌봄교실의 경우 2023년부터 무료 급식이 제공됨에 따라 형평성 문제를 해결하고 아동의 건강한 성장발달을 위해 다함께돌봄센터에서도 급식을 지원하기로 했다.

급식 서비스는 다함께돌봄센터 이용 시간에 따라 방학 중에는 중식, 학기 중에는 석식을 지원할 예정이며, 방학뿐만 아니라 학기 중 급식은 전국에서 최초로 지원한다. 

한편 천안시의 이번 조치로 다함께돌봄센터를 이용하는 모든 아이들에게 지원하는 양질의 급식은 그동안 방학 중 자녀의 식사 문제로 발을 동동거렸던 맞벌이 가구의 식사 준비 걱정과 돌봄 부담을 덜어주게 됐다.
