대전지역 한 초등학생들이 달리기나 산책을 하면서 쓰레기를 줍는 ‘플로깅 온 더 블록’ 프로젝트 활동으로 환경보호에 앞장서 눈길을 끌고 있다.

대전원앙초등학교 6학년 학생들은 ‘플로깅 온 더 블록’ 프로젝트의 과정으로, 지역사회 플로깅 활동을 실시했다고 21일 밝혔다.

‘플로깅 온 더 블록’프로젝트는 환경부·교육부·기상청/환경보전협회가 공동으로 주최·주관하는‘기후위기 대응 및 탄소중립 실현을 위한 2022년 교사 학습공동체 지원사업’의 일환으로 진행되는 활동이다.

대전원앙초등학교 6학년 학생들은 그동안 학내 스마트교육 인프라를 활용해 플로깅의 개념에 대한 이해, 올바른 분리배출 방법 학습, 환경보호 캠페인을 위한 로고 디자인, LED 전광판에 들어갈 캠페인 문구 작성 등 기후위기에 대응하고 지역사회의 환경보호를 실천하는 교과융합형 모듈학습 활동을 전개해 왔다.
