대선이 끝난 뒤 더불어민주당 신규 당원가입이 급증하고 있는 가운데 대전시당에도  입당  러시가 이뤄지고 있다고 민주당 대전시당(이하 민주당)이 밝혔다.

민주당에 따르면 대선직후 10일에는 360명, 11일에는 743명, 12일(토)~13일(일)에는 1670명 등 모두 2773명이 입당한 것으로 나타났다.

1일평균 700명이 입당하고 있으며,  20~30대 여성이 주류를 이루고 있다.

신규 입당자 가운데 20~30대가 70%를 차지하고 있으며, 여성이 80%에 달하는 등 20~30대 여성이 절반이상을 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

입당이외도 입당관련 문의와 당비납부, 권리당원 자격 요건 등에 관한 전화 문의가 쇄도하는 등 대선 이후 당원 가입이 급증하고 있다.

이밖에 일반당원에서 월 1000원 이상, 6개월 이상 당비를 내야  자격이 주어지는 권리당원으로 전환하겠다는 문의도 이어지고 있다.

당원 가입이유로 ‘대선에서는 패배했지만 지방선거에서는 반드시 이겨야 한다’‘대선결과에 분노’해서 ‘민주당과 이재명에게 힘을 실어주기 위해’ 등 다양한 이유로 입당을 하고 있는 것을 나타났다.
 
민주당 대전시당에 따르면 “20~30대 젊은 층과 40~50대 중장년층은 온라인으로 입당하고 있으며,  60~70대는 전화로  입당에 관해 문의하는 경우가 많다”고 밝혔다.
