[City Councilmember Jeong Ki-hyeon "We will become an education market that fosters local talents"]

Daejeon City Council member Jeong Ki-hyeon, who declared his candidacy for mayor of Daejeon earlier, said, "It will become an education market that nurtures talented people for the future of the region."

Rep. Jung held a press conference at the press room of the Daejeon City Council on the 6th and explained his plans and aspirations for the new year.

First of all, Rep. Jung said that he plans to announce a promise with specific contents in several separate sessions in the future, and said, "I have been active in the Board of Education for 6 of the 8 years of legislative activity, and 7 years as a member of the budget settlement, working with the Office of Education and municipal administration. Based on his extensive experience in the city, Daejeon will actively take steps to create a city of education.”

In the question and answer session that followed, Rep. Jeong answered, "Is there any way to deal with the recent group assaults at elementary schools or the assaults at private high schools?" "It is time to change the direction of education from a competitive education society to a macroscopic direction." He said, "Educational practices in schools also need to change the bad habits that have followed those practices in the past while shifting to an advanced society or an advanced talent nurturing system by breaking away from existing viewpoints and practices."

He continued, "I think the cause is that, without changing the existing educational philosophy or educational paradigm, we are not able to break away from the practice that everyone is tired of in the current competitive education system." We would like to change the system a little bit, and furthermore, we would like to present the hope that our Korean education can be changed through local education.”

Rep. Jeong also said, "It is a time when new leadership is needed in a period of great transition in which Daejeon is located." Regarding the reasons for the improvement of Daejeon municipal administration and the reason for becoming a mayor, Rep. To do this, we need to invest in talent. I think we need to invest in people.”

Rep. Jeong, who emphasized the need for preparation for the future, said, "Through tree planting, we were able to leap forward as an environment-friendly nation, and President Kim Dae-jung's investment in informatization was also an important investment." "In the future, artificial intelligence and robot drone autonomy It will replace human work due to various devices in the information society, such as driving. I wonder if it will become a field of culture, arts, sports and tourism.”

He continued, "The 8th popularly elected mayor needs a leadership with such a mindset and philosophy to believe that investments should be made in that direction. I want to tell you that I will be the right person in that field."

Regarding the timing of his resignation as a member of the National Assembly, he said that he would run for the primary without resigning as a member of the National Assembly, and that he would reveal his position on the local elections while observing the progress of the presidential election because the presidential election is the most urgent task now.

Regarding the approval rating, he said, "I don't think recognition and approval rating will happen all at once," he said. As it is 50% public opinion polls 50%, I will actively promote it to members of the rights party and let people know about my existence.”

He added, "The existing organized elections are important, but we will also focus on raising awareness through social media, which has emerged as a constant since the corona virus," he said. With that thought in mind, I plan to work with strengths in that area.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Jeong said that the first pledge would be announced on January 20th, and that the pledge would be an education-related pledge, and specific details would be announced on the same day.
