[Daejeon City, Service Robot Convergence Model Demonstration Project in Underground Shopping Mall]

Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jeong and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's Industrial Policy Office Director Joo Young-joon held an 'AI 5G-based Service Robot Convergence Model' held on the afternoon of the 13th at the Daejeon Jungang-ro Underground Shopping Mall (Seonhwa-dong, Daejeon) with the participation of local merchants, robot companies, local lawmakers, and related organizations. Participated in the demonstration project inauguration ceremony.

The city of Daejeon announced that it held this event to introduce and demonstrate a demonstration project using delivery robots, logistics robots, and quarantine patrol robots, etc. .

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has been promoting the demonstration project of using service robots for each robot and the development and dissemination of service robots tailored to demand for the dissemination and dissemination of service robots. will be promoted

The goal of this large-scale demonstration project is to find improvements in robot products and services and to discover tasks for creating a robot-friendly environment by providing a pilot convergence service using robots in familiar spaces frequented by the public, such as shopping malls.

In this demonstration project, ▲2 delivery robots, ▲8 logistics robots (4 autonomous driving types, 4 following types), ▲2 quarantine and patrol robots, ▲bari A total of 15 robots of 5 types will be demonstrated with one star robot and two ▲promotion/guide robots.

In this demonstration, a robot service for merchants and shoppers was introduced, such as a delivery robot delivering coffee made in a cafe to merchants in an underground shopping mall, and a logistics robot carrying and following the luggage of a passerby pulling a stroller.

In the future, when the demonstration project starts in earnest, merchants and citizens will be able to directly experience the various services provided by robots in this underground shopping mall.

With this demonstration project, it is expected that the number of visitors to the underground shopping mall will increase by relieving anxiety about confined and dense spaces due to Corona 19, and providing attractions such as logistics transportation, quarantine, patrol, and coffee baristas using cutting-edge robots.

Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung said, “We expect that service robots will help small business owners by providing non-face-to-face services to underground shopping malls that have stagnated due to the prolonged COVID-19. We will spare no effort to provide support to improve the quality of life, and we look forward to continued and active business cooperation with the Ministry of Industry in the future.”
