[Sejong City Increases Citizen Satisfaction with the Fulfillment Rate of the Mayor's Commitment]

On the 19th, Sejong City held a report on the progress of the 3rd phase of municipal administration at the city hall, and discussed ways to create visible results for the 3rd period, including measures to improve the implementation rate of the pledge to improve administrative experience.

At this briefing session, 20 people, including Mayor Lee Chun-hee, as well as Director Sil, who is in charge of the pledge business, shared the progress of each pledge project and shared problems and measures for normal promotion.

The pledge for the 3rd phase of municipal administration consists of 145 detailed projects in 34 action strategies in 7 areas, the total budget is KRW 1.5516 trillion, and as of the end of March, 139 pledges are being implemented as the target, showing 95.9% achievement rate compared to the plan.

In order to select a pledge in 2018, the city established and announced a four-year implementation plan through collecting opinions through the Citizen's Sovereignty Preparation Committee, operating a citizen participation group, and on-site meetings.

Since then, we have been making efforts to improve the quality of life for citizens, including regular checks on the implementation of the pledge every month, regular inspections through quarterly reporting sessions, and citizens' sovereignty meetings, as well as realizing business plans for the implementation of pledges through the annual citizen jury system.

In particular, among the pledged projects for the 3rd phase of municipal administration, ▲ citizens' recommendation system for eup-myeon-dong, ▲ establishment of eup-myeon-dong residents' councils and village meetings ▲ enactment of basic ordinances for citizen participation, etc., are evaluated as an example of advanced administration in the field of model resident self-government projects where citizens are the owners.

In addition, a total of 84 projects have been completed by striving to implement cultural arts and lifelong learning support, childcare and care programs for each life cycle.

It is a plan to quickly resolve problems through collaboration between departments and sharing alternatives for pledged projects currently being promoted through a briefing meeting on this day, and to increase the rate of implementation through securing government budgets and consultations with ministries.

Mayor Lee Chun-hee emphasized, “The pledge is a promise that Sejong City has contemplated and made together to improve the quality of life for citizens,” and said, “I hope that we will make more efforts to secure administrative trust and increase civic satisfaction by actively implementing the pledge for the remainder of the year.”
