[Sejong City Office of Education, Establishment of Education Welfare Safety Net for the Underprivileged Class]

The Sejong City Office of Education announced that it is promoting the '2021 Educational Welfare Safety Net Project' to support students from underprivileged schools in schools without educational workers.
The Education Welfare Safety Net is a project aimed at solving the blind spot for educational welfare by discovering students from underprivileged schools in schools that do not have educational workers, and helping students to grow and develop the whole person with customized support from each student.
In the aftermath of Corona 19 last year, as the concurrent school and remote classes were prolonged, there were voices of concern about the learning, care, and safety of vulnerable students.
In particular, students from underprivileged schools in schools where educational workers were not assigned needed more support because they had relatively insufficient opportunities to receive educational welfare support benefits.
Accordingly, the Sejong City Office of Education promotes the “Educational Welfare Safety Net” project to complement the existing education welfare priority support project, which had assigned educational workers to schools with poor education.
In order to effectively promote the education welfare safety net project, the Sejong City Office of Education assigned two educational welfare workers to each of the South and Northern School Support Centers.
The Nambu School Support Center and the Bukbu School Support Center support schools in the east region (29 elementary schools, 18 middle schools), and eup and myeon schools (16 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 4 high schools) that do not have educational welfare services.
