[Chungnam education budget, students-parents-local residents together...]

The Chungnam Office of Education held the 1st Resident Participation Budget Committee in 2021 on the 25th.

The committee confirmed the results of reflecting residents' opinions in the 2021 budget, and discussed the plan for the operation of the student, parent, and resident participation budget system. In addition, the schedule of education and finance briefing sessions for each region and plans for conducting surveys were discussed to collect opinions on budget planning for next year.

Through the gathering of opinions from local residents last year, ▲Development of materials for remote education ▲Diversification of family experience programs ▲Expanding support for entrance examinations ▲Replacement of retired air conditioners and 64 projects were reflected in the budget of 6.1 billion won in 2021.

This year, an opinion gathering window will be operated throughout the year to listen to residents' opinions, and a survey will be conducted for parents, students, residents, and faculty along with regional educational financial briefings in April and May.

In particular, this year, the “Participation Budget Proposal Project,” which was operated for residents and parents, was expanded to include students. Now students can directly propose projects and participate in the execution process.

Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol said, “The total project cost of the “Participation Budget Proposal Project Competition” for students is 3.15 billion won. It is organized up to 500 million in each city, county and region.” He explained, “We plan to accept the proposed project with the focus on supporting school curriculum, not simply improving educational facilities.”
