충남도의회는 김옥수 의원(비례·국민의힘)이 대표발의한 ‘충청남도 문화재교육 진흥에 관한 조례안’을 입법예고 했다고 25일 밝혔다.

문화재교육은 2006년부터 문화재청에서 시행해왔지만 법적 근거 부재로 인해 예산 확보와 인력 양성 등 관련 사업 추진에 어려움이 많았다.

그러다 지난 연말 관련법 개정에 따라 지방자치단체 차원에서도 문화재교육 진흥 정책을 추진할 수 있는 근거가 마련됐다.

조례안에는 문화재교육 활성화 진흥계획 수립, 관련 실태조사 실시, 프로그램·교육 자료 개발·보급, 전문인력 양성·지원 등 행·재정적 지원에 대한 도지사의 책무를 규정했다.

특히 민·관이 함께 문화재교육 진흥에 힘쓸 수 있도록 도교육청, 시·군 및 관련 교육기관과 협력체계 구축, 사무 위탁 조항을 명시했다.

김 의원은 “충남은 백제문화를 비롯해 내포문화권과 회니(회덕·논산)문화권 등 유교와 불교의 영향을 받아 보존할 가치가 있는 문화재를 많이 보유하고 있다”며 “조례가 제정되면 문화재교육의 길이 열려 도민에게 우리 문화재의 중요성과 자긍심을 길러주는데 크게 기여할 것”이라고 말했다.

조례안은 오는 30일부터 열리는 제328회 임시회에서 심의된다.
