지난해 5월 문화체육관광부 공모사업에 최종 선정된 ‘대전 콘텐츠기업 육성센터 조성사업’이 금년 6월 개소를 목표로 조성사업이 차질 없이 진행되고 있다고 대전시가 밝혔다.

이 사업은 5년간 176억 원(국비 88억 시비 88억)을 투입해 지역 콘텐츠산업 육성거점으로 조성하여 콘텐츠 스타트업 인큐베이팅을 통해 첨단 문화기술(CT)과 콘텐츠가 융합된 융복합 콘텐츠 등 다양한 콘텐츠 제작과 사업화 환경을 지원할 계획이다.

 

금년 6월 센터가 문을 열게 되면 스타트업 80개 육성, 170여 개 이상의 다양한 지원 프로그램을 진행하고, 이를 통해 지역 콘텐츠 전문 인력 280여 명의 일자리 창출이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

 

그동안 대전시는 서구 만년동에 콘텐츠기업 육성센터 조성을 위한 지하1층, 지상 6층 규모의 전용건물을 확보하고, 건축 설계용역을 마치고, 건물 리모델링 공사를 추진 중에 있다.

 

센터 공간은 2층에 콘텐츠 창업자를 위한 오픈 스페이스 형태의 네트워킹, 프로젝트 및 세미나 공간과 3~5층은 콘텐츠기업을 위한 입주공간, 6층은 콘텐츠 스타트업을 위한 입주공간으로 조성된다.
