최훈 위원장(공주2·더불어민주당)은 “‘친일잔재 조사 및 연구활동 지원에 관한 조례’가 지난 연말 제정됨에 따라 문화체육관광국은 가시적인 친일잔재 조사·연구활동 성과를 낼 수 있도록 추경 예산을 확보하고 연구용역을 추진해 달라”고 당부했다.

2019년 6월 구성된 친일잔재 청산 특위는 도내 산재한 일제강점기 식민지 잔재를 청산하고 순국선열의 고귀한 뜻을 되새기며 민족정기 확립을 목표로 다양한 활동을 펼쳐왔다.
