지난 한 해에는 제8대 중구의회가 구민 여러분들의 성원과 격려에 힘입어 전반기 일정을 무사히 마치고 후반기 의정활동에 접어들었습니다. 중구의회는 법과 원칙을 준수하며 집행부와 소통하는 의회가 되기 위해 노력해 왔습니다.
이에 개원이후 최초로 구정현안에 대해 집행부 공무원과 학계 전문가를 초청한 토론회를 열어 다양한 시각에서 객관적인 의견을 수렴하였고, 의원연구단체를 결성하여 중구의 사무위탁관련 조례의 법령위배 여부 등을 검토하고 사무위탁의 개선 방향을 제시하였습니다.
지난 해 우리나라에 유입된 코로나 팬데믹은 우리의 일상을 바꿔놓았습니다. 최전방 현장에서 방역에 임하고 있는 의료진과 관계공무원들의 헌신과, 성숙한 시민의식으로 정부의 방역지침에 협조하여 주시는 구민여러분들의 희생에도 불구하고 확산세는 줄어들지 않고 있습니다. 제4차, 제5차 대유행이 오지 않도록 방역에 힘쓰고, 우리 모두의 땀과 노력이 헛되지 않게 사회적 거리두기에 집중해야 할 시기입니다.
