충남대학교의 오랜 숙원사업이었던 ‘(가칭)스포츠콤플렉스’ 건립 예산이 지난 12월 2일 열린 2021년 국회 예산안 심의에서 최종 의결되면서 건립에 탄력을 받게됐다.

이번 예산 확정에 따라 충남대는 ‘충남대학교 실내체육관 리모델링 및 확충(스포츠콤플렉스 건립)’에 필요한 총 269억 7,300만원의 중 설계비 11억 5,200만원을 2021년도에 확보하여 사업을 추진하게 된다.

국회 예산 심의에서 통과된 충남대 스포츠콤플렉스 사업은 2021년부터 2024년까지 추진되며 총 9,664m² 규모에 기존의 실내 체육관 3,664m²는 리모델링하고 6,000m²는 확충하는 형태로 진행된다.

충남대 스포츠콤플렉스는 지상 3층, 지하 1층으로 지어지며 기존에 운영되던 경기장, 체조실, 태권도실, 강의실 등에 대한 리모델링에 더해 다목적 체육관, 수영장, 휘트니스실, 세미나실 등을 새로 갖추게 된다.

충남대는 스포츠콤플렉스 건립을 통해 재학생 등 대학 구성원들에게 최상의 교육서비스를 제공하는 한편, 증축되는 다목적 체육관, 수영장 등은 지역주민과 대덕연구단지에 적극적으로 개방해 지역사회의 복지와 건강증진을 위한 국가 거점국립대학교로서의 역할을 해 나갈 예정이다.

[Chungnam National University, full-scale construction of a 9,664㎡'sports complex']

The budget for the construction of the “(tentative name) sports complex,” which has been a long-awaited project of Chungnam National University, was finalized at the deliberation of the budget for the 2021 National Assembly held on December 2nd, giving momentum to its construction.

According to this budget, Chungnam National University will secure a total design cost of KRW 2,673 million, which is necessary for the remodeling and expansion of Chungnam National University's indoor gymnasium (establishment of sports complex) in 2021, and promote the project.

The Chungnam National University Sports Complex project, which was passed by the National Assembly budget review, will be promoted from 2021 to 2024, with a total of 9,664m², remodeling the existing indoor gym, 3,664m², and expanding 6,000m².

The Chungnam National University Sports Complex will be built with 3 floors above ground and 1 basement level, and will be equipped with a multipurpose gymnasium, swimming pool, fitness room, and seminar room in addition to the remodeling of the existing stadium, gymnastics room, taekwondo room, and lecture room.

Chungnam National University provides the best educational services to university members including current students through the establishment of a sports complex, while the multipurpose gymnasium and swimming pool that are being expanded are actively opened to local residents and Daedeok Research Complex to promote the welfare and health of local communities. It is expected to play a role as a base national university.
