대전시가 그동안 논란을 불러온 유성구 장대교차로에 대해 평면교차로 건설하는 것으로 확정한 것과 관련 국민의힘 대전시당(이하 국민의힘)이 '입체교차로'로 건설하라고 촉구했다.
국민의힘은 8일 <대전시가 거꾸로 가고 있다>라는 제목의 논평을 내고 이같이 촉구했다.
국민의힘은 논평에서 대전시의 평면교차로 건설계획에 대해 "백 년 앞은 내다보지 못하더라도 십 년 앞 정도는 내다보고 정책을 수립해야 하는데, 대전시가 거꾸로 가고있다"고 지적했다.
"언론 보도에 따르면 대전시가 결국 장대 교차로를 평면으로 추진한다"고 인용한 국민의힘은 "당초 입체 교차로로 계획됐던 교차로를 지가 하락 등의 민원으로 평면으로 바꾸었다는 것이 대전시 변명"이라며 대전시의 변명이 궁색한것이 아니냐는 의문을 던졌다.
이어 "지역민들이 입체교차로 건설을 요구하는 청원을 넣어도, 국감에서 이명수 의원이 입체 교차로 검토를 요구해도 소용없다"고 말하면서 "대전시는 무슨 뜩심인지 평면교차로를 강행하고 있다"고 주장했다.
국민의힘은 지역 민원도 평면을 입체로 바꾸어 달라는 게 주류라고 말하고, 해당 지역구 국회의원은 무엇을 하고 있으며 구청장은 또 무엇을 하고 있는지 모르겠다며 국회의원과 구청장에게 화살을 돌렸다.
이어 "대전시는 지금이라도 장대 교차로 원안대로 입체 교차로로 건설하고, 무소불위 권력을 쥐고 있다고 대전을 맘대로 주무르려 한다면 그 대가를 반드시 치를 것임을 명심하라"고 으름장을 놨다.
그러면서 "대전시가 이대로 평면 교차로로 강행한다면 대전시장, 유성구청장, 국회의원 모두에게 책임이 있다는 것을 잊지 말라"고 경고했다.
국민의힘 지적에 대해 대전시 트램건설본부 관계자는 "언론보도는 언론의 주장이고, 처음 계획단계부터 평면교차로를 추진해 왔고, 입체교차로 건설을 검토는 했으나 교통서비스 등 여러 상황을 검토한 결과 평면교차로 건설이 타당하다는 결론에 이르러 평면교차로를 추진하는 것"이라고 답변했다.

He added, "Even now, the city of Daejeon is constructing a three-dimensional intersection according to the original plan of the Jangdae Intersection, and that if you try to sleep in Daejeon as you please, keep in mind that you will pay the price."
He warned, "If Daejeon City goes to a flat intersection like this, do not forget that the mayor of Daejeon, Mayor of Yuseong-gu, and members of the National Assembly are all responsible."
Regarding the point of the people's strength, an official from the Daejeon City Tram Construction Headquarters said, "The press is the argument of the media, and we have been pushing for a flat intersection from the initial planning stage. When we came to the conclusion that this is reasonable, we are promoting the flat intersection.”
