대전시교육청이 2021학년도 교사 임용시험 원서접수를 마감한 결과 공립은 135명 선발에 1,064명이 지원 7.9:1의 경쟁률을 보였고, 사립은 56명 선발에 675명이 지원 12.1:1의 평균 경쟁률을 보였다.

사립학교 지원자 수는 공·사립 동시지원제의 시행에 따라 공립 지원자 중 사립학교법인에 2지망으로 지원한 사람의 수가 포함된 숫자이며, 사립학교만을 단독으로 지원한 사람의 수는 335명으로 이에 따른 경쟁률은 6:1이다.
