Daejeon Seo-gu Lays the Foundation for Prospective Entrepreneurs to Enter Regional Investment Market
Daejeon Seo-gu has established a platform to strengthen the investment attraction capabilities of local early-stage and prospective startups and to support their entry into the regional investment market.
Seo-gu announced on the 4th that it held the "Seo-gu Startup Scale-up Week" for two days from the 2nd to the 3rd at Hana Startup Park H3. This event is an in-house startup support program organized by Seo-gu in conjunction with the "2026 Startup Korea Investment Week (SIW)," a major investment consultation event.
Approximately 70 people attended the event, including local startups and prospective entrepreneurs, as well as experts in investment, finance, and guarantees. Participants engaged in a variety of programs designed to foster practical growth, such as investment education, investor relations (IR) sessions, mock presentations and feedback, sector-specific one-on-one customized consultations, and networking.
During the "Investment Insight Day" held on the first day, expert lectures on understanding the startup investment environment and investment attraction strategies were conducted, along with the sharing of success stories. During the subsequent talk concert, in-depth discussions took place regarding the practical challenges faced during the investment attraction process and strategies for growth.
On the second day, the ‘IR & Investment Consultation Day,’ six startup and prospective startup teams, selected through a preliminary screening process, delivered mock IR presentations. Investment experts reviewed each company’s business model, marketability, and growth potential, providing feedback to prepare them for real-world scenarios.
In the subsequent 1:1 consultations, investment experts verified business viability, and officials from Hana Bank and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund participated to guide companies through customized financial and guarantee support systems, paving the way for fundraising.
Following last year’s ‘Startup Connecting Week,’ Seo-gu received praise for significantly enhancing effectiveness this year by precisely expanding the program to include stages ranging from education to IR and financial consultation.
Jeon Mun-hak, Head of Seo-gu District, emphasized, “For local startups to grow sustainably, accurate market understanding and systematic preparation are essential, in addition to innovative technology and ideas.” He added, “We will continue to actively expand the local startup ecosystem by establishing a differentiated support system tailored to the needs of the field.”
