충남 공주시가 민족 대명절인 추석을 앞두고 공직사회 부패 취약 시기에 대응해 9월 7일부터 18일까지 2주간 ‘청렴주간’을 지정·운영한다.

이번 청렴주간 추진은 공주시의 미흡한 종합청렴도 평가 결과를 극복하고 공직사회 전반의 신뢰를 회복하려는 강한 의지가 반영된 조치다. 

공주시는 국민권익위원회의 공공기관 종합청렴도 평가에서 2023년 5등급, 2024년 4등급 등 연이어 하위권 성적을 기록하며 조직 체질 개선과 강력한 반부패 대책 마련이 시급한 과제로 떠올랐다.  

이에 공주시는 보조금 집행, 공사감독, 인사 분야 등 그간 부패에 취약했던 시책을 정비하고, 공직자는 물론 시민이 직접 체감할 수 있는 현장 중심의 개선 프로그램을 대폭 강화했다.

청렴주간 첫 주말인 8일에는 아트센터 고마에서 공무원 대상 반부패 법령 교육 프로그램인 ‘청렴골든벨’을 열어 법조항 이행력을 높인다. 이어 9일부터는 시청 로비에 ‘청렴나무’를 설치해 내방객과 직원들의 다양한 의견을 수렴할 예정이다.

특히 추석 명절 직 전인 16일을 ‘청렴한 Day’로 정해 다채로운 결의 행사를 이어간다. 

최원철 시장과 간부 공무원들은 시청 광장에서 명절 청렴 캠페인을 펼치며, 시청 로비에서는 청렴 룰렛 이벤트를 진행한다. 환경성센터에서는 최 시장과 직원들이 스마트 리모컨을 활용해 의견을 주고받는 ‘청렴토크콘서트’를 통해 소통 기반의 조직문화 쇄신에 나선다.

아울러 읍면동별 ‘민관협력 청렴실천 서약’을 통해 공직사회를 넘어 지역사회 전반으로 청렴 문화를 확산시킬 계획이다.시는 이와 함께 오는 9월 23일까지를 ‘추석 명절 청렴경보 집중 관리 기간’으로 정하고 직무관련자와의 금품·향응 수수 행위를 철저히 차단한다. 

청탁금지법상 명절 기간 농축수산물 선물 가액 허용 범위(30만 원)와 별개로, 직무 관련 직접 이해관계자에게는 선물이 엄격히 금지된다는 점도 집중 홍보한다.
