대한민국 국방 및 로봇 산업의 미래 기술을 한눈에 조망할 수 있는 자리가 대전에서 마련됐다.

대전시는 육군교육사령부, (사)한국국방MICE연구원과 손을 잡고 6월 9일부터 11일까지 사흘간 대전컨벤션센터(DCC) 제1·2전시장에서 ‘2026 대한민국 국방산업발전대전(InLEX KOREA 2026)’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 대전은 기존에 열리던 ‘첨단국방산업대전’과 지난해 선보인 로봇융합페스티벌을 한 단계 발전시킨 ‘대전 첨단로봇 커넥트’를 하나로 묶어 기획했다. 산·학·연·관·군은 물론 군 관계자 등 2만여 명이 한데 모이는 국방·로봇 분야 역대 최대 규모의 통합 행사다.

9일 진행된 개막식에는 이장우 대전시장을 비롯해 육군참모총장, 육군교육사령관, 육군군수사령관 등 군 수뇌부와 국방부 관계자, 국방 관련 대학 및 국책연구기관장, 방산기업 대표 등 내빈 300여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

개막식에 이어 제1전시장에서는 미래 전장의 핵심 트렌드를 짚어보는 기조연설이 진행됐다. 박원호 국무조정실 대테러센터장과 글로벌 피지컬 인공지능(AI) 전문 기업인 ‘어플라이드 인튜이션’의 제이슨 브라운 총괄본부장이 연사로 나서 미래 전장의 판도를 바꿀 첨단 국방기술의 흐름을 다뤄 참관객들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

행사는 미래 국방과 첨단 로봇의 시너지 효과를 극대화하기 위해 ‘첨단 국방 전시존’, ‘대전방산포럼’, ‘대전 첨단로봇 커넥트’ 등 3개 섹션으로 나누어 운영된다.

우선 DCC 제2전시장에 조성된 ‘첨단 국방 전시존’에는 한화에어로스페이스, LIG D&A, 현대로템, 한국항공우주산업(KAI) 등 국내 방위산업을 이끄는 대기업들이 대거 참여해 인공지능(AI), 국방 MRO, 미래 모빌리티 등 최신 기술력을 뽐낸다. 

여기에 두시텍, 시버리솔루션스 등 지역을 대표하는 유망 혁신 기업들도 동참해 대전 방산 생태계의 탄탄한 경쟁력을 입증한다.

같은 기간 제1·2전시장 세미나실에서 열리는 ‘대전방산포럼’에서는 유·무인 복합체계(MUM-T), 국방AX(AI 전환) 전략, 미래 지상전력 발전 방안 등 국방산업의 당면 과제를 심층적으로 다루는 30여 개의 전문 학술 세션이 사흘간 연속으로 펼쳐진다.

이와 함께 제2전시장 한 축을 담당하는 ‘대전 첨단로봇 커넥트’에서는 KAIST 주관의 로봇 얼라이언스 기술이전 상담회와 로봇창업경진대회가 진행된다. 전시 영역에서는 사족보행 로봇을 비롯해 물류·안내 로봇의 생생한 시연이 펼쳐지며, 시민들이 직접 참여하고 즐길 수 있는 다채로운 체험 프로그램도 마련됐다.

대전시는 이번 대전을 발판 삼아 지역 내 방산 중소벤처기업들의 판로 개척과 글로벌 시장 진출을 적극 지원할 예정이다. 행사 기간 중 군 활용성 간담회, 비즈니스 수출 상담회, 투자유치 설명회 등을 유기적으로 연계해 가시적인 비즈니스 성과를 도출하겠다는 구상이다.

이장우 대전시장은 “이번 행사는 대전이 보유한 독보적인 과학기술 역량과 방위산업의 경쟁력을 만천하에 보여주는 이정표가 될 것”이라며 “첨단 국방기술과 로봇 산업의 융합을 바탕으로 대한민국 국방 신산업을 선도하는 일류 경제도시로 도약하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

한편, 대전시는 많은 인파가 몰리는 행사의 특성을 고려해 안전 관리에도 총력을 기울이고 있다. 화재 및 밀집 사고 등 돌발 상황에 신속하게 대응할 수 있도록 행사 기간 동안 현장 상황실을 24시간 가동하고, 전시장 곳곳에 안전요원을 상시 배치해 만일의 사고를 철저히 예방할 방침이다.
