충남 공주시의 밤하늘을 동화 같은 감성으로 수놓을 야간 축제가 관람객들을 찾아온다.

공주문화관광재단은 오는 6월 13일 제민천 감영길 일대에서 '2026 공주 페스티벌'의 올해 첫 행사를 개최한다고 밝혔다. 이번 축제는 문화체육관광부, 한국관광공사, 공주시가 공동으로 추진하는 '2026 야간관광 특화도시 조성사업'의 핵심 콘텐츠로 기획됐다.

올해로 3회째를 맞이한 공주 페스티벌은 지명인 '공주'와 영단어 '프린세스(Princess)'의 재미있는 중의적 의미를 결합한 국내 유일의 프린세스 콘셉트 야간 문화관광 축제다. 차별화된 감성과 시민 중심의 참여형 프로그램을 통해 지역을 대표하는 야간관광 브랜드로 자리 잡았다.

올해 축제는 총 3회에 걸쳐 진행되며, 매회 행사 시기에 어울리는 '별자리'를 테마로 삼아 다채로운 스토리텔링을 풀어내는 것이 특징이다. 13일 열리는 개막 행사에서는 '쌍둥이자리'를 모티브로 한 다채로운 공연과 체험 행사가 마련돼 여름밤의 낭만을 더할 예정이다.

특히 이번 6월 축제에는 어린이들의 전폭적인 사랑을 받고 있는 인기 애니메이션 ‘프린세스티니핑’의 대표 캐릭터 ‘하츄핑’이 특별 게스트로 나서 기대를 모은다. 행사장 곳곳에는 하츄핑 에어바운스 포토존과 페이스페인팅 부스가 설치되어 어린이를 동반한 가족 단위 방문객들에게 즐거운 추억을 선사한다.

이외에도 축제의 백미로 꼽히는 '공주 퍼레이드'와 관람객들이 직접 무대의 주인공이 되는 '공주님 선발대회'가 열기를 더한다. 아울러 감영길관광예술회가 동참하는 활기찬 프리마켓과 이색적인 체험 부스들이 밀집해 축제장을 풍성하게 채울 예정이다.

그동안 재단은 야간관광 특화도시 사업의 일환으로 공주 페스티벌을 포함해 ‘공주 별빛만찬’, ‘캔들라이트 공주온밤’ 등 이색적인 야간 관광 상품을 잇달아 선보이며 공주만의 독자적인 야간 행정 브랜드를 다져왔다.

김지광 공주문화관광재단 대표이사는 “공주 페스티벌은 지역의 특색을 살린 독창적인 야간 콘텐츠로서 매년 시민과 관광객들에게 큰 감동을 안겨주고 있다”며 “올해는 별자리라는 신비로운 스토리텔링을 가미해 더욱 알차고 매력적인 볼거리를 확충한 만큼, 많은 분이 오셔서 공주의 아름다운 밤을 만끽하시길 바란다”고 전했다.

한편, ‘2026 공주 페스티벌’은 6월 13일 첫 행사를 시작으로 오는 7월 11일과 9월 19일에도 각각 새로운 별자리 테마와 함께 감동의 무대를 이어갈 예정이다.
