제9회 전국동시지방선거에서 예산군수로 당선되며 재선에 성공한 국민의힘 최재구 당선인이 “무거운 책임감과 낮은 자세로 군민들의 뜻을 온전히 받들겠다”며 당선 소감을 전했다.

최재구 당선인은 4일 발표한 소감문에서 당선의 기쁨을 나누기에 앞서 지역 내 안타까운 사고에 대해 고개를 숙였다.
