제9회 전국동시지방선거 본투표를 하루 앞둔 2일 오후, 유득원 대전광역시장 권한대행 행정부시장이 투표소 현장을 직접 찾아 막바지 준비 상황을 예리하게 점검하며 꼼꼼한 선거 지원 행정을 펼쳤다.

시에 따르면 유득원 권한대행은 이날 대전 서구 월평3동 행정복지센터에 마련된 투표소를 전격 방문했다. 이번 점검은 3일 본투표 당일 유권자들이 안심하고 쾌적하게 주권을 행사할 수 있도록 현장의 최종 제반 여건을 확인하고, 투표사무에 매진하고 있는 현장 관계자들을 격려하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 현장에서 유 권한대행은 기표소의 배치 상태와 투표함의 규격 및 봉인 설비 등 필수 투표 시설의 이상 유무를 세밀하게 살폈다. 

특히 예상치 못한 정전이나 화재 등 돌발적인 재난 상황에 철저히 대비할 수 있도록 소방 및 전력 설비의 안전관리 실태를 집중적으로 확인했다.

아울러 거동이 불편한 어르신이나 교통약자, 장애인 유권자들이 투표소를 이용할 때 동선에 조금의 제약이나 불편함도 겪지 않도록 휠체어 경사로 등 장애인 편의시설의 확보 상태를 꼼꼼히 다잡으며 포용적 선거 환경 조성을 주문했다.

유득원 권한대행은 현장의 투표사무 관계자들의 노고를 치하하는 자리에서 선거 공정이 온전히 확립되고 투표가 최종 마무리되는 순간까지 공직자로서 깊은 책임감을 갖고 투표 사무에 임해 달라고 당부했다.
