“국민의힘은 보안 요청에 현장 공개 최소화…민주당은 화보 연상케 하는 사진 공개”

지난 1일 대전 한화에어로스페이스 화재 사고로 인명피해가 발생한 가운데, 국민의힘 대전광역시당이 사고 현장 사진을 공개한 더불어민주당 정청래 대표를 향해 “안타까운 희생을 정치적 홍보와 이미지 연출의 수단으로 활용했다”며 강하게 비판했다.

국민의힘 대전시당은 2일 논평을 내고 “국가 핵심 방산시설의 보안 문제를 떠나, 비극적인 사고 현장을 정치적으로 이용하는 것이 유가족과 부상자 가족들에 대한 최소한의 예의인지 묻지 않을 수 없다”고 밝혔다.

대전시당은 전날 장동혁 당대표를 비롯한 국민의힘 지도부가 현장을 방문했을 당시 상황을 언급하며 민주당의 행태를 지적했다. 

대전시당은 “한화에어로스페이스 측이 국가안보와 직결된 핵심 방산시설인 만큼 보안 유지가 필요하다는 입장을 전달해 왔고, 국민의힘은 이를 존중해 취재진에게 양해를 구하고 현장 공개를 최소화했다”고 설명했다.

이어 “그러나 정청래 민주당 대표 측은 현장 사진을 공개했다”며 “국가 핵심 방산시설이라는 점과 현장의 보안 필요성을 충분히 인지하고 있었음에도 무엇이 그토록 급해 사진을 공개했느냐”고 꼬집었다.

특히 사고 수습이 끝나지 않은 상황에서의 현장 노출은 유가족과 부상자 가족들에게 고통을 재발할 수 있다고 우려했다. 

대전시당은 “마치 화보를 연상케 하는 현장 사진을 보며 많은 국민들이 씁쓸함을 감추지 못하고 있다”며 “사고 현장에 남겨진 것은 유가족의 눈물과 부상자들의 고통이어야지 정치적 연출과 홍보가 되어서는 안 된다”고 강조했다.

국민의힘은 이번 사태를 민주당의 고질적인 ‘정치 유불리 우선주의’의 연장선으로 규정했다. 

국민의힘 대전시당은 “국가안보도, 보안도, 희생자에 대한 예의도 정치적 목적 앞에서는 뒷전으로 밀려난 듯한 민주당의 인식이 개탄스럽다”면서 “대한민국의 안전과 상식이 흔들리는 모습을 걱정하는 대전시민과 국민들께서 이번 사안을 똑똑히 지켜보고 판단하실 것”이라고 경고했다.

한편 사고가 발생한 한화에어로스페이스 대전 작업장은 보안을 요하는 방산시설로 취재진은 물론 일반인들의 현장 공개는 엄격히 제안된 사업장이다.

하지만 사고 발생 후 현장을 방문한 더불어민주당 황정아 국회의원(유성을)은 폭발사고가 발생한 현장 사진을 포함한 민주당 집행부 현장 방문 사진까지 사고 현장을 배경으로 공개 하면서 누구보다 국가 안보에 관심을 가져야 할 국회의원이 사고 현장 사진을 자신의 페이스북에 소개하면서 이번 사고로 희생된 작업자들 가족에게 2차 피해를 준것 아니냐는 비난을 자초했다.
