충남 보령시가 5월 청소년의 달을 기념해 미래의 주역인 청소년들이 숨은 끼를 마음껏 발산하고 학업 스트레스를 해소할 수 있는 복합 문화 축제를 성공적으로 마무리했다. 

시는 30일 보령문화예술회관 대공연장에서 관내 청소년과 학부모, 시민 등 800여 명이 객석을 가득 메운 가운데 ‘청소년의 달 기념행사 및 청소년 가요제’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

(사)세원아청문화육성회가 주관한 이번 행사는 치열한 입시 경쟁과 일상적인 학업 부담에 지친 청소년들에게 건강한 에너지를 재충전할 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다. 

아울러 청소년들이 평소 동아리 활동과 취미 생활을 통해 갈고닦은 예술적 재능을 건전하게 표출하도록 돕고, 이를 통해 자아 발전과 청소년 복지 증진을 도모한다는 취지다.

이날 축제의 하이라이트인 청소년 가요제 무대에는 치열한 예선을 거쳐 선발된 관내 중·고등학생 12개 팀이 본선에 올라 보컬, 밴드 등 다채로운 장르의 공연을 펼쳤다. 

무대에 오른 청소년들은 기성 가수 못지않은 뛰어난 가창력과 당당한 무대 매너로 그동안 숨겨왔던 실력을 유감없이 발휘했으며, 관객들은 열띤 응원과 환호성으로 축제의 분위기를 달구었다. 

특히 최근 가요계에서 독보적인 개성으로 주목받는 대세 아티스트 ‘지올팍’과 감성 뮤지션 ‘시소’의 화려한 축하 무대가 이어지면서 현장의 열기는 최고조로 치달았다.

김동일 보령시장은 청소년이 밝고 건강하게 자라야 보령의 미래도 함께 밝아진다는 확고한 신념을 가지고 있다면서, 앞으로도 청소년 여러분이 원대한 꿈과 무한한 잠재력을 마음껏 펼치며 비상할 수 있도록 시 차원의 교육·문화 인프라 확충에 최선을 다하겠다고 격려의 메시지를 전했다.
