국민의힘 엄기환 천안시의원 후보(성환·직산·입장)가 지난 20일 오후 5시 선거사무소 개소식을 열고 본격적인 선거 행보에 나섰다.

이날 개소식에는 이정만 천안을 당협위원장을 비롯해 성무용 전 천안시장(전 국회의원), 전용학 전 국회의원, 이명수 충남도교육감 후보(전 4선 국회의원)와 국민의힘 천안을 지역 지방선거 후보자들이 참석해 엄 후보의 출발을 응원했다.

엄기환 후보는 인사말을 통해 “비가 오는 궂은 날씨에도 귀한 발걸음을 해주신 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “보내주신 기대와 성원에 보답할 수 있도록 반드시 승리해 천안시민을 위한 성실한 일꾼이 되겠다”고 밝혔다.

1990년생인 엄 후보는 천안공업고등학교와 국립공주대학교 산업공학과를 졸업했으며, 국민의힘 충남도당 청년위원장과 국민의힘 천안을 당원협의회 사무국장을 역임하며 지역 정치 활동을 이어오고 있다.

He has been active in local politics, having served as the Chairman of the Youth Committee of the People Power Party's South Chungcheong Provincial Chapter and the Secretary-General of the People Power Party's Cheonan-Eul Party Council.
