어린이날 맞아 아동 중심 공약 발표··· 

“걸어서 10분 생활권 및 돌봄 특화 도시 조성”

더불어민주당 정준영 계룡시장 예비후보(이하 후보)가 제104회 어린이날을 앞두고 아동 권리 보호와 미래 세대를 위한 파격적인 투자 공약을 발표했다. 

정 후보는 4일 보도자료를 통해 “유니세프 아동친화도시(CFC) 공식 인증을 추진해 아이들이 가장 행복한 계룡시를 만들겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.

정 후보는 “현재 충남 15개 시군 중 상당수가 이미 유니세프 아동친화도시 인증을 받았거나 추진 중인 상황에서 계룡시는 한발 늦은 감이 있다”며 안타까움을 드러냈다. 

이어 “시장에 당선되는 즉시 행정력을 집중해 아동친화도시 공인 인증을 획득하고, 불평등과 차별 없는 안전한 성장 환경을 구축하겠다”고 강조했다.

이번 공약에는 계룡시의 지역적 특성을 반영한 구체적인 실행 방안이 담겼다. 

정 후보는 놀이터·도서관·돌봄시설을 10분 내 이용 가능한 ‘걸어서 10분 어린이 생활권’ 구축 ,군인 가족 비중이 높은 특성을 고려한 ‘군 가족 특화 아동 돌봄 도시’ 완성 ,어린이 안전 사고 제로화를 위한 ‘어린이 안전 1위 도시’ 조성을 약속했다. 

또한 방과후 무료 프로그램을 대폭 확대해 학부모들의 사교육비 부담을 덜어주겠다는 계획도 포함됐다.

정준영 후보는 “청년층 유입이 활발한 계룡시가 지속 가능한 발전을 이루려면 아이 키우기 좋은 환경이 최우선 과제”라며 “아동이 행복한 도시는 자연스럽게 젊은 세대의 이주를 부르고 출생률 제고로 이어질 것”이라고 기대를 내비쳤다. 김정환 기자 djbreaknews@naver.com
