더불어민주당 천안시장 후보 결선을 통과한 장기수 예비후보가 1일 노동절을 맞아 민생 현장을 첫 방문지로 택하며 본격적인 선거 행보에 나섰다.

장 예비후보는 이날 오전 (주)세창이엔티와 천안청화공사를 잇달아 방문해 현장 노동자들의 애로사항을 청취하고 소통하는 시간을 가졌다. 이번 일정은 후보 확정 후 첫 공식 행보로, '중산층과 서민의 삶을 지키는 시장'이 되겠다는 의지를 강조하기 위해 마련됐다는게 선거캠프의 설명이다.

현장에서 장 예비후보는 “천안의 실질적인 변화를 이끄는 동력은 현장에서 땀 흘리는 노동자들에게서 나온다”며 “노동이 존중받는 도시를 만드는 것이 곧 시민 모두가 존중받는 사회로 나아가는 지름길”이라고 밝혔다.
