스마트농업 연구기업 ㈜그린팜(대표 박종대)이 강원특별자치도농업기술원이 주관하는 2026년 지역특화작목기술 민간경상보조사업 공모에서 ‘찰옥수수 보급종자 안정생산을 위한 국내외 채종단지 탐색’ 과제 수행기관으로 27일 최종 선정됐다. 

이번 사업은 최근 기후변화로 강원도 내 주요 찰옥수수 채종단지(3개 시·군)의 생산성이 감소함에 따라, 안정적인 종자 공급 체계를 마련하기 위해 추진된다. 

그린팜은 국내외 유망 채종단지를 조사·분석하고, 연계 생산 모델을 구축해 향후 국내 찰옥수수 종자의 안정적 확보 기반을 다질 계획이다.

과제 수행은 농촌진흥청 출신의 이인규 박사가 책임 연구를 맡으며, ㈜그린팜 연구진이 현장 방문 및 재배환경 분석, 후보단지 검증 등 실무를 진행한다. 사업 기간은 오는 2028년까지 3년간이다.

박종대 대표는 “찰옥수수 종자 산업의 안정적 기반 마련은 지역 농업의 경쟁력을 높이는 중요한 과제”라며 “앞으로도 다양한 연구개발 사업에 적극 참여해 우리나라 농업의 미래성장에 기여하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 대전에 본사를 둔 그린팜은 스마트팜 기술 기반의 연구개발 및 생산 전문기업으로, 최근에는 공실건물을 활용한 수직형 딸기 재배 기술을 선보이며 젊은 농업인들의 관심을 받고 있다.

Daejeon company Green Farm selected for the Gangwon Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services' private sector subsidy project, "Stable Production of Waxy Corn Seeds"

Green Farm (CEO Park Jong-dae), a smart agriculture research company, was selected on the 27th to implement the "Exploring Domestic and International Seed Complexes for Stable Production of Waxy Corn Seeds" project in the 2026 Regional Specialized Crop Technology Private Sector Subsidy Program hosted by the Gangwon Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services.

This project aims to establish a stable seed supply system in response to recent climate change-related declines in productivity at major waxy corn seed complexes (three cities and counties) in Gangwon Province.

Green Farm plans to research and analyze promising domestic and international seed complexes and establish a linked production model to solidify the foundation for a stable supply of waxy corn seeds in the future.

Dr. Lee In-gyu, a former member of the Rural Development Administration, will lead the research project, while researchers from Green Farm will conduct field visits, analyze cultivation environments, and verify candidate plots. The project will run for three years, until 2028.
