대전시립합창단(예술감독 빈프리트 톨)이 오는 11일 오후 7시 30분 대전시립연정국악원 큰마당에서 제174회 정기연주회 ‘크리스마스 오라토리오’를 선보인다.

이번 무대는 ‘음악의 아버지’ 요한 세바스티안 바흐의 신앙과 예술세계를 조명하는 공연으로, 빈프리트 톨 지휘 아래 국내 정상급 성악가들이 출연한다.

연주는 바흐의 모테트 BWV 225 ‘Singet dem Herrn ein Neues Lied’(새 노래로 여호와께 노래하라)로 시작한다. 두 합창단이 대위법적으로 어우러지는 이 곡은 환희와 기술미가 절정에 이른 명곡으로 평가받는다. 

이어 바흐의 대표적 걸작인 ‘크리스마스 오라토리오’(Weihnachts-Oratorium) BWV 248 중 1·5·6부가 연주된다. 예수 탄생의 기쁨과 축복, 동방박사의 방문 등 성탄의 서사를 따뜻하고 웅장하게 풀어내며 깊은 감동을 전할 예정이다.

무대에는 소프라노 강혜정, 카운터테너 정민호, 테너 김세일, 베이스 안대현이 솔리스트로 함께한다. 또한 카메라타 안티콰 서울이 연주로 참여해 바로크 음악의 정수를 더한다.

대전시립합창단은 “이번 연주회가 한 해를 마무리하는 시민들에게 위로와 따뜻한 울림을 전하길 바란다”고 전했다.
