태안해양경찰서가 7일 오후 충남 태안군 근흥면 목개도 인근 해상에서 기상 악화로 갯바위에 고립된 레저활동자 2명을 구조했다고 밝혔다.

해경에 따르면 이날 오후 2시께 해상에서 수상레저를 즐기던 이들이 갑작스런 높은 파도에 밀리며 고무보트가 갯바위에 끼인 뒤 구조를 요청했다. 신고를 접수한 해경은 즉시 신진파출소 연안구조정과 경비함정, 구조대를 현장으로 급파해 약 40분 만에 두 사람을 안전하게 구출했다.

고립 당시 이들이 타고 있던 고무보트는 추진기가 파손된 상태로, 해경은 경비함정을 동원해 신진항으로 예인 조치했다. 구조된 남성 2명은 모두 40대였으며 구명조끼를 착용하고 있어 건강에는 이상이 없는 것으로 확인됐다.

태안해경 관계자는 “해상 레저활동 시 구명조끼 착용은 기본 안전수칙”이라며 “기상 변화를 사전에 점검하고, 이상 징후가 있을 경우 즉시 귀항하는 등 안전에 각별히 유의해달라”고 당부하고 “앞으로도 해양사고에 신속히 대응해 국민의 생명과 안전을 지키겠다”고 강조했다.
