충남 교육계에 낭보가 전해졌다. 

충청남도교육청은 온양고등학교 정승열 교사가 교육부가 주최하고 한국과학창의재단이 주관하는 ‘2025 대한민국 정보교육상’ 수상자로 선정되었다고 2일 밝혔다. 

이는 충남교육청이 2023년 이후 2년 만에 이 권위 있는 상의 수상자를 배출하며 디지털 시대 정보교육 선도 역할을 확고히 했음을 보여준다.

정승열 교사가 수상의 영예를 안은 배경에는 학생 중심의 혁신적인 교수‧학습 방법을 현장에 성공적으로 적용한 공로가 주효했다. 정 교사는 단순히 지식을 전달하는 것을 넘어, 학생들의 학습 격차 해소와 자기주도적 학습 역량 신장에 초점을 맞췄다.

특히 정규 수업과 연계된 다양한 비교과 활동을 통해 학생들의 진로 탐색을 적극적으로 지원하고, 정보 분야에 대한 흥미와 자신감을 고취시키는 데 탁월한 성과를 거두었다. 

정 교사의 지도 아래 학생들은 인공지능(AI) 중심학교 운영의 일환인 인간형 로봇 캠프, 국제 로봇올림피아드 참가 등을 경험하며 미래 핵심 역량을 길렀다.

정 교사는 교육 실천뿐만 아니라 정보교육 연구에서도 활발한 활동을 이어왔다. 석사 과정을 통한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 기반 인공지능 기초 융합 수업 연구를 진행하고, 이를 바탕으로 교수학습 자료를 개발하며 교육의 질을 높이는 데 기여했다. 

또한, 연수 및 정보나눔자리 활동을 통해 연구 성과를 동료 교사들과 공유하며 정보교육의 저변 확대에 힘썼다.

특히 주목할 만한 부분은 교육 기회의 균등 제공을 위한 정 교사의 헌신이다. 온라인 저지 시스템 구축과 지역사회 연계 인공지능(AI) 캠프 운영, 학교 친구 프로그래밍 챌린지(SFPC) 지원 등을 통해 정보교육의 성과를 일반화하고, 소외계층 학생들에게 균등한 학습 기회를 제공하고자 지속적으로 노력해왔다.

정승열 교사는 수상에 대한 감사와 함께 “앞으로도 학생들과 정보교육으로 소통하며 다양한 수업 사례를 나누고, 충남 학생들의 인공지능교육 역량 향상을 위해 꾸준히 노력할 것”이라는 다짐을 밝혔다.

김지철 교육감은 “대한민국 정보교육상 수상을 진심으로 축하하며, 정 교사의 헌신적인 노력이 충남교육의 위상을 높였다는 사실이 매우 자랑스럽다”고 격려했다.

Chungnam Office of Education Wins Onyang High School Teacher Jeong Seung-yeol's "Republic of Korea Information Education Award"

The Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education announced on the 2nd that Onyang High School teacher Jeong Seung-yeol was selected as the recipient of the "2025 Republic of Korea Information Education Award," hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.

Under Teacher Jeong's guidance, students developed core future competencies through experiences such as the Humanoid Robot Camp, part of the AI-centered school program, and participation in the International Robot Olympiad.

Teacher Jeong has been active in information education research in addition to his teaching practice. Through his master's degree, he conducted research on basic AI convergence classes based on physical computing, developing teaching and learning materials based on this research, and contributing to the improvement of educational quality.

Furthermore, he shared his research findings with fellow teachers through training and information sharing activities, contributing to the expansion of information education.

Particularly noteworthy is Teacher Jeong's dedication to providing equal educational opportunities. Through initiatives such as establishing an online judging system, operating a community-linked AI camp, and supporting the School Friend Programming Challenge (SFPC), he has consistently strived to popularize the achievements of information education and provide equal learning opportunities to underprivileged students.

Teacher Jeong expressed his gratitude for the award and pledged, "I will continue to engage with students through information education, share diverse teaching practices, and consistently strive to enhance the AI ​​education capabilities of students in Chungnam Province."
