대전시가 지역 경제와 과학 발전에 크게 기여한 인물을 발굴하고 그 공적을 기리기 위해 제31회 대전광역시 경제과학대상 수상 후보자를 공모한다고 2일 밝혔다. 1994년부터 시작된 이 상은 지역 최고 권위의 상으로 손꼽힌다. 

이번 공모는 수출, 과학기술, 벤처기업, 산·학 협동, 유통·소비자보호, 농업 등 총 6개 부문에서 진행된다. 후보자는 시상일 현재 1년 이상 대전시에 거주하거나 주사무소를 둔 개인, 기관, 또는 단체여야 하며, 최소 1년 이상 해당 분야에서 활동해야 한다.

후보자 추천은 해당 분야 관련 기관·단체의 장이나 구청장이 할 수 있다. 또한, 대전시민 20명 이상이 함께 서명해 추천하는 것도 가능하다. 

접수 서류는 추천서, 공적조서, 그리고 공적 증빙 자료이며, 양식은 대전시청 홈페이지 시정자료실에서 내려받을 수 있다. 10월 2일부터 10월 31일까지 30일간 대전시청 일자리경제정책과로 직접 방문하거나 우편으로 제출하면 된다.

접수된 후보자들은 경제과학대상위원회의 엄정한 심사를 거쳐 부문별로 1명씩, 총 6명의 수상자가 선정된다. 최종 수상자에게는 12월 중 대전광역시장 명의의 상패가 수여된다. 단, 공직선거법에 따라 상금은 지급되지 않는다.

후보자 공적 기간이 1년 미만이거나, 동일한 공적으로 1년 이내에 상급 기관에서 표창을 받은 경우, 그리고 사회적 지탄을 받은 이력이 있는 경우는 수상 대상에서 제외된다.

Daejeon City announced on the 2nd that it is accepting nominations for the 31st Daejeon Metropolitan City Economic and Science Awards to recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the local economy and scientific development. Launched in 1994, the award is considered the region's most prestigious.

This call for nominations covers six categories: exports, science and technology, venture businesses, industry-academia cooperation, distribution and consumer protection, and agriculture. Candidates must be individuals, organizations, or groups who have resided or have their main office in Daejeon for at least one year as of the award date, and must have been active in the relevant field for at least one year.

Nominations can be made by the heads of relevant organizations or groups or by district mayors. A joint nomination by 20 or more Daejeon citizens is also possible.

Application documents include a letter of recommendation, official records, and supporting documents. The forms can be downloaded from the Daejeon City Hall website's City Administration Data Room. Applications can be submitted in person or by mail to the Daejeon City Hall Employment and Economic Policy Division for 30 days, from October 2nd to October 31st.

The Economic Science Award Committee will rigorously review the submitted candidates and select six winners, one from each category. The final winners will receive a plaque in December bearing the name of the Mayor of Daejeon. However, in accordance with the Public Official Election Act, no prize money will be paid.

Candidates who have served in the public service field for less than one year, have received a commendation from a higher-level organization within the past year for the same achievement, or have a history of social criticism are ineligible for the award.
