세종충남대학교병원(원장 권계철)은 28일 한국산업기술진흥원이 추진하는 ‘스마트 디지털헬스케어 제품 사업화 통합지원’ 사업에 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 이번 과제를 통해 병원은 국내 디지털헬스케어 기업의 임상시험·실증 지원과 해외 인증 확보를 뒷받침하며 산업 경쟁력 강화에 나서게 된다.

이 사업은 수출입 통계체계 구축을 기반으로 정책 수립과 민간 활용을 지원하는 한편, 제품의 임상시험과 고도화 실증을 통해 글로벌 시장 진출을 촉진하는 것을 목표로 한다. 단순한 연구에 그치지 않고 상용화와 인증까지 이어지는 전주기적 지원이 이루어진다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

권계철 원장은 “미래의학연구원을 중심으로 임상연구자와 디지털헬스케어 기업들과의 꾸준한 연구의 장을 마련하고 임상 실증을 적극 지원해 큰 성과를 창출했다”며 “이번 대규모 사업 수행을 계기로 향후 국내 디지털헬스케어 산업 발전의 중추적 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
