충남대학교병원(병원장 조강희)이 지난 5일 최신 디지털 PET-CT 장비인 ‘Discovery MI’ 가동식을 갖고 본격 운영에 들어갔다. 이번 도입은 기존 아날로그 장비와 비교해 영상 해상도와 선명도를 획기적으로 개선해, 2mm 이하의 미세 병변까지 정밀하게 식별할 수 있게 된 점이 가장 큰 특징이다.

특히 ‘모션 프리(Motion Free)’ 기능 탑재로 환자의 호흡에 따른 영상 왜곡을 자동 보정하여 고화질의 신뢰도 높은 영상을 제공하며, 검사 속도도 크게 개선되어 환자의 대기시간과 불편함이 크게 줄어들었다. 저선량 기법 적용으로 환자 안전성도 한층 강화됐다.
