대전시교육청은 최근 공무원을 사칭한 사기범들이 물품 구매나 용역 대금 지급 명목으로 업체에 금전을 요구하는 사건이 발생함에 따라, 시민과 업체의 각별한 주의를 요청했다고 31일 밝혔다. 

이들은 공문서 위조와 공무원 개인 연락처 도용 등 정교한 수법을 사용하고 있어 피해가 확산될 우려가 있는 상황이다.

교육청은 어떠한 경우에도 전화, 문자, 이메일 등을 통해 금전을 요구하지 않으며, 계약이나 대금 지급 관련 연락을 받은 경우에는 반드시 해당 부서 담당자와 유선으로 사실 여부를 확인할 것을 강조했다. 

사칭 의심 사례가 발견되면 즉시 관할 경찰서에 신고할 것을 당부했다. 

대전시교육청은 이번 사건과 관련해 둔산경찰서에 수사를 의뢰했으며, 앞으로도 신속한 정보 공유와 대외 안내를 통해 공공기관 사칭 범죄에 단호하게 대응할 계획이다.

고영규 대전시교육청 총무과장은 “교육청을 사칭한 범죄는 공공기관 신뢰를 훼손하는 심각한 문제”라며 “의심스러운 연락에 대해서는 반드시 사실 확인을 해주길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 충남교육청에서도 최근 공무원 사칭 사기 사례가 발생함에 따라 유사 피해 예방을 위한 주의를 촉구한 바 있다. 충남교육청은 교육청 직원을 가장한 금전 요구 행위가 적발됨에 따라 업체와 시민들에게 계약 관련 연락 시 주의를 기울이고 의심스러운 경우 즉시 신고하도록 안내하고 있다. 

두 시도교육청의 공조와 함께 시민과 업체의 경각심 강화가 요구되고 있다.
