충남대학교, 국립공주대학교, 세종공동캠퍼스운영법인 등 3개 기관이 대전·세종·충남 지역을 잇는 고등교육 혁신역량 강화를 위해 손을 맞잡았다. 

7월 31일 세종공동캠퍼스 학술문화지원센터에서 열린 업무협약식에서는 세종공동캠퍼스 활성화와 대학 발전, 산학협력 체계 구축, 미래형 글로벌 인재 양성에 공동 대응하기로 뜻을 모았다.

이번 협약의 핵심은 세종공동캠퍼스의 고등교육 기능 확대를 토대로 지역혁신 중심 산학협력 체계를 마련하고, 융합교육·연구를 활성화하는 한편, 정부재정지원 사업인 ‘글로컬대학’과 ‘지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE)’ 등에 협력하는 데 있다. 또한 대학 경쟁력 강화와 공동캠퍼스 활성화를 위한 전반적 분야에서도 긴밀히 협력한다.

협약식과 함께 계룡건설 윤길호 대표이사가 참석한 가운데, 충남대와 (가칭)청람에듀빌8차, 공주대와 (가칭)청람에듀빌9차 간에 ‘세종공동캠퍼스 조성 임대형 민간투자시설사업(BTL) 실시협약’도 체결됐다. 이에 따라 2028년을 목표로 행정중심복합도시 세종공동캠퍼스 내 분양형 캠퍼스 조성이 본격 추진된다.

충남대는 314억 원 규모의 사업비로 지상 5층·지하 1층, 연면적 13,433㎡의 교육연구시설 건립에 나서며 바이오메디컬·국가정책 분야 특성화 캠퍼스를 2028년 3월 개교할 계획이다. 공주대 또한 281억 원을 투입해 같은 부지에 12,000㎡ 규모의 교육연구시설을 건립하고, IT·ET·예술 융복합 학과 및 산학협력단, 연구소를 이전한다.

충남대 김정겸 총장은 “세종공동캠퍼스가 대전과 충남을 연결하는 혁신의 인큐베이터 역할을 하며, AI 시대를 선도할 창의적 융복합 인재를 공동 육성하여 국가와 지역, 대학이 상생 발전하는 새로운 성장동력을 마련하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

Chungnam National University, Kongju National University, and the Sejong Joint Campus Management Corporation have joined forces to strengthen higher education innovation capabilities across the Daejeon, Sejong, and South Chungcheong regions.

At a business agreement signing ceremony held at the Sejong Joint Campus Academic and Cultural Support Center on July 31st, the organizations agreed to jointly address the revitalization of the Sejong Joint Campus, university development, the establishment of an industry-academia collaboration system, and the cultivation of future global talent.

The core of this agreement is to establish a regional innovation-centered industry-academia collaboration system based on the expanded higher education functions of the Sejong Joint Campus, promote convergence education and research, and collaborate on government-funded projects such as the "Glocal University" and the "Regional Innovation-Oriented University Support System (RISE)." At the signing ceremony, attended by Kyeryong Construction CEO Gil-ho Yoon, the "Sejong Joint Campus Construction Lease-Type Private Investment Facility Project (BTL)" was also signed between Chungnam National University and (tentatively named) Cheonglam Eduville 8th, and Kongju National University and (tentatively named) Cheonglam Eduville 9th. Accordingly, construction of a for-sale campus within the Sejong Joint Campus in the Administrative City will begin in earnest by 2028.

Chungnam National University is constructing a five-story, one-story basement education and research facility with a total floor area of 13,433 square meters with a project budget of 31.4 billion won. The campus, which specializes in biomedical and national policy fields, is scheduled to open in March 2028. Kongju National University will also invest 28.1 billion won to build a 12,000 square meter education and research facility on the same site. It will also relocate its IT, ET, and arts convergence departments, industry-academia collaboration foundation, and research institutes.
