독립기념관이 오는 8월 15일 제80주년 광복절을 맞아 국민과 함께하는 다채로운 기념행사를 준비했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 ‘암흑에 굴하지 않고 한국인으로 광복의 꽃을 피우다’를 주제로 한 자료 공개를 시작으로, 광복 80주년과 독립기념관 개관 38주년을 기념하는 학술심포지엄을 개최한다. 

8월 6일 서울 글로벌센터에서 열리는 심포지엄에서는 ‘20세기 아시아, 탈식민으로의 경로’를 주제로 활발한 논의가 펼쳐질 예정이며, 제21회 독립기념관 학술상 시상식도 함께 진행된다.

광복절 당일인 8월 15일에는 ‘태극기, 바람속의 약속’ 특별전이 개막하며, 첨단 기술을 활용한 미디어 전시 ‘AI 수퍼노바로 되살린 광복의 기쁨’도 시민들에게 새롭게 공개된다. 

같은 날 오전 10시, 겨레의 집 ‘불굴의 한국인’ 상 앞에서는 제80주년 광복절 경축식이 열리며, 공군 특수비행단 블랙이글스의 공연과 피아니스트 백혜선의 연주 등 풍성한 문화공연이 이어진다.

또한, 여름방학을 맞아 어린이와 청소년들을 위한 교육 프로그램도 다수 마련되어 ‘나랑 닮은 독립운동가는?’과 ‘교과서 속 독립운동 이야기’ 등 다양한 체험과 학습 기회를 제공한다.

The Independence Hall of Korea to Hold Various Commemorative Events for the 80th Anniversary of Liberation Day

The Independence Hall of Korea announced that it has prepared a variety of commemorative events for the public to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day on August 15th.

The event will begin with the release of materials on the theme, "Blossoming the Flower of Liberation as Koreans, Not Yielding to Darkness," followed by an academic symposium commemorating the 80th anniversary of liberation and the 38th anniversary of the Independence Hall of Korea.

The symposium, held on August 6th at the Seoul Global Center, will feature lively discussions on the topic, "20th Century Asia: The Path to Decolonization," and the 21st Independence Hall of Korea Academic Awards Ceremony will also be held.

On August 15th, Liberation Day itself, the special exhibition, "Taegeukgi, Promise in the Wind," will open. A cutting-edge media exhibition, "The Joy of Liberation Revived by AI Supernova," will also be unveiled to the public.

At 10:00 AM on the same day, a ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day will be held in front of the "Indomitable Korean" statue at the House of the People.
