충남 천안시가 31일 폭염에 특히 취약한 쪽방촌 등 비정상 주거 환경에 거주하는 시민들의 안전을 위해 현장점검에 나섰다. 

이번 점검은 단열이 취약하고 열악한 주거 환경으로 인해 여름철 폭염 피해 위험이 높은 쪽방촌 주민들의 생활실태를 직접 확인하고, 안전관리 체계를 강화하기 위해 추진됐다.

윤은미 천안시 복지정책국장은 이날 성환읍과 신안동 일대 쪽방촌을 찾아 냉방기기 보유 여부와 건강상태를 점검하며 여름철 폭염 대응 행동요령을 주민들에게 안내 했다. 

이와 함께 폭염 취약계층이 일상생활에서 겪는 어려움도 청취하여 현장의 목소리를 직접 들었다.

특히 천안시복지재단의 후원으로 선풍기, 여름이불 등 냉방용품을 취약 계층 주민에게 전달하며 폭염 속 건강 보호와 생활환경 개선에 힘을 보탰다.

천안시 관계자는 “쪽방촌 등 취약 주거 환경에 놓인 시민이 폭염으로부터 안전하게 생활할 수 있도록 지속적인 관심과 지원을 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.

She also listened to the challenges faced by residents vulnerable to heatwaves, directly hearing their voices.

With support from the Cheonan City Welfare Foundation, she delivered cooling products, such as electric fans and summer blankets, to vulnerable residents, contributing to their health and improving their living conditions during the heatwave.

A Cheonan City official said, “We will continue to strengthen our interest and support so that citizens in vulnerable housing environments, such as shantytowns, can live safely from the heat wave.”
