대전 서구의회가 30일, 집중호우로 큰 피해를 입은 충남 예산군 고덕면 석곡리를 찾아 자원봉사활동을 펼치며 수해 복구 지원에 힘을 보탰다. 

이번 봉사활동에는 조규식 의장과 서구의회 의원 20여 명이 참여해, 침수로 피해를 입은 농가와 마을의 신속한 복구를 위해 구슬땀을 흘렸다.

예산군 고덕면 석곡리는 최근 기록적인 폭우로 도로와 주택이 훼손되고 농경지가 침수되는 등 심각한 피해를 입었으며, 마을 곳곳에는 토사와 생활폐기물이 방치되어 주민들이 큰 불편을 겪고 있는 상황이다. 

서구의회는 토사 제거와 폐기물 처리 작업뿐 아니라, 침수 피해를 입은 꽈리고추 비닐하우스 3개 동의 복구에도 적극 나섰다.

조규식 의장은 “갑작스러운 집중호우로 삶의 터전을 잃고 어려움을 겪는 예산군 주민들에게 깊은 위로를 전한다”면서 “이번 봉사활동이 피해 복구에 조금이나마 도움이 되길 바라며, 앞으로도 서구의회는 이웃 사랑과 지역 간 상생 협력을 통해 위기 극복을 위한 지원을 계속해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.
