충남 공주시(시장 최원철)는 농번기를 맞아 고온기 작물 관리와 농업 현장의 실질적 어려움을 해소하기 위해 오는 16일까지 ‘찾아가는 영농 현장 순회 교육’을 실시한다고 10일 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 특히 교통이 불편하거나 교육 접근성이 낮은 외곽 농촌 지역의 농업인을 대상으로 현장을 직접 찾아가는 방식으로 진행된다. 기존의 집합형 교육이 아닌 마을별 수요 맞춤형 교육으로, 실질적인 기술 보급과 애로 해소에 초점을 맞췄다는 점에서 주목된다.

교육 내용은 여름철 주요 작물인 벼, 콩, 고추, 참깨 등 4개 작목에 대한 재배 기술과 더불어, 폭염 대응을 위한 농업인 행동 요령 및 건강·안전관리 방안, 그리고 농업과학기술정보 서비스 제도에 대한 안내 등으로 구성된다.

특히 사전 수요 조사를 통해 선정된 마을을 중심으로, 회관이나 실제 농작물이 자라고 있는 포장 현장에서 교육이 이뤄지며, 현장 중심의 질의응답 방식으로 운영돼 농업인들의 궁금증을 즉시 해소할 수 있는 실용성이 높다는 평가다.

공주시 농업기술센터는 이번 교육을 위해 분야별 전문 지도사 20명을 투입해 맞춤형 지도를 강화하고 있다. 

김희영 농업기술센터 소장은 “이번 교육은 작목별 전문 지도사 20명이 직접 영농 현장을 찾아가 여름철 고온기 농작물 병해충 방제 핵심 기술을 전수하고, 농업인들이 겪고 있는 현장 문제를 실시간으로 해결하는 맞춤형 교육이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

공주시는 이번 순회 교육을 계기로 농업인과의 소통 채널을 강화하고, 앞으로도 계절별 재배 시기와 농업 환경 변화에 대응하는 지속 가능한 현장지원 체계를 구축할 방침이다.
