대전 중구가 재개발·재건축 등 정비사업의 신속한 추진과 주민 불편 해소를 위해 ‘정비사업 신속지원센터’를 본격적으로 가동한다. 김제선 중구청장의 공약에 따라 조직 개편과 예산 확보, 전문 인력 채용 등 준비 과정을 마친 센터는 이달부터 도시계획과 산하에 정식 출범해 운영에 들어갔다.

정비사업 신속지원센터는 정비사업 역량 강화 교육, 찾아가는 주민설명회, 조합 운영 실태 점검 등 다양한 역할을 수행한다. 

이를 통해 토지 소유자와 조합원들이 정비사업을 정확히 이해하고 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 지원하며, 실무 경험을 갖춘 전문요원이 배치돼 주민들에게 신속하고 정확한 정보를 제공한다. 또한, 각종 민원에 대한 신속한 대응 체계도 마련해 주민 불편 해소에 앞장선다.

김제선 중구청장은 “신속지원센터의 본격 운영으로 정비사업의 전문성과 투명성을 높이고, 조합장·추진위원장 협의회 등 소통 창구를 효율적으로 운영해 구민의 목소리를 직접 듣고 해결하는 체계를 갖추겠다”고 밝혔다.

현재 대전 중구는 대전시 전체 재개발·재건축 사업의 약 40%에 해당하는 44개 구역에서 정비사업을 추진 중이다. 중구는 이번 센터 운영을 계기로 정비사업 추진 속도를 높이고, 주민 중심의 행정을 더욱 강화할 방침이다.
