시공명리학 칼럼 16번째 이야기에서는 을사년, AI가 주목받는 이유에 대해서 알아보겠습니다.

'을목(乙木)이 좌우로 펼치면서 오른다'는 의미는 단순히 성장 모습을 표현한 것에 그치지 않고 ‘다양성과 유연한 확장성’이라는 자연의 메시지를 담고 있습니다. 

또한, 최근 한국 주식시장, 특히 코스피 지수의 가파른 상승세와 을사(乙巳)의 움직임은 맞닿아 있습니다. 짧은 기간 코스피는 3000선을 회복하면서 아시아 시장에서 가장 역동적인 움직임으로 국내외 투자자들에게 한국 주식시장의 재평가를 이끌고 있습니다. 

그렇다면, 2025년 을사년(乙巳年)에 가장 주목해야 할 종목은 무엇일까요? 바로 ‘AI 관련주’입니다. 을사년의 의미를 살펴보면 AI가 주목받는 이유를 자연스럽게 이해합니다.

을목(乙木)은 좌우로 펼치면서 오르는 유연한 나뭇가지를 상징하기에 주위와의 연결, 결속, 협력을 통하여 세력을 확장하고 퍼뜨리는데 뛰어난 재능을 보입니다. 따라서 乙木은 자신의 정체성이나 틀을 고집하는 것이 아니라 좌우와의 협력으로 정보를 교환하고 확장하고 진화하는 인공지능(AI)의 속성과 놀라울 정도로 닮아 있습니다. 

을목(乙木)이 자연에서 만물에게 생기를 부여하고 확장하듯, AI는 인간의 사회활동에 뛰어난 지능과 정보를 제공하는 방식으로 문화와 문명의 발전을 이끌고 있습니다. 현대의 AI는 소프트웨어 기반의 적용력과 확장력을 중심으로 끊임없이 진화해갑니다. 타고난 응용력을 기반으로 무한대로 확장하는 乙木의 본성과 너무도 닮아있습니다. 

2025년 상반기, 코스피 지수는 3년 만에 최고치를 기록했습니다. 세계경제의 불확실성이 지속되는 와중에도 한국 주식시장이 선전할 수 있었던 이유는 AI산업의 급성장을 기대하는 심리가 크게 작용했기 때문입니다. 

특히 SK그룹과 아마존(AWS)이 7조 원을 투자해 울산에 국내 최대 규모의 AI 데이터센터를 설립하려는 계획을 발표하자 AI산업에 대한 기대와 희망이 현실이 되었습니다. 발표 직후 SK하이닉스를 비롯하여 주요 반도체 및 클라우드 기업들의 주가가 일제히 상승했고 주식시장의 핵심 주도주로 부상하고 있습니다. 

SK하이닉스는 고대역폭 메모리(HBM)의 글로벌 수요확대에 힘입어 AI 반도체 공급 중심에 섰으며 LG CNS와 카카오는 각각 클라우드와 플랫폼 AI 생태계를 중심으로 존재감을 키워가고 있습니다. 솔트룩스, 코난테크놀로지, 셀바스AI 등 AI 특화 중소형주들은 코스닥 시장에서 ‘기술성장주’로서의 프리미엄을 반영하며 단기 수익률 측면에서 두각을 나타냈습니다. 

을목(乙木)은 유연함을 무기로 외부환경에 유기적으로 반응하여 상하좌우를 연결하고 확장하는 움직임을 통하여 성장 동력을 얻어내는 능력이 특출합니다. 바로 인공지능 기술의 작동방식과 매우 닮아있습니다.  

AI는 소프트웨어 중심으로 무형의 지능을 다양한 산업으로 확장하는데 나무가 부드러운 가지를 활용해서 세상을 감싸는 모습과 크게 다를 바 없습니다. 또 을사년의 ‘사화(巳火)’는 을목의 움직임을 더욱 빠르고 광범위하게 펼쳐냅니다.
