대전시가 국가균형발전과 지역 성장 동력 확보를 위한 주요 현안 과제 15건을 국정기획위원회에 공식 제안했다고 밝혔다.

대전시는 8일 서울청사에서 열린 ‘시도별 국가균형성장 간담회’에서 국가균형성장특별위원회를 대상으로 행정 체제 개편 ,과학기술 인프라 확장 ,지역 핵심시설 이전 등 전략 과제를 건의하며 정부 차원의 적극적 검토를 요청했다.

이날 간담회에는 유득원 대전시 행정부시장이 참석해 대전·충남 행정통합을 포함한 5건의 국가 전략과제와 함께, 대전교도소 이전, 첨단바이오·메디컬 혁신지구 조성 등 10건의 지역 공약사업을 설명했다. 

특히 대덕 양·자 클러스터 구축과 같은 미래 산업 기반 조성 방안은 대전이 보유한 과학기술 역량을 십분 반영한 것으로 평가된다.

유득원 대전시행정부시장은 “이번에 제시한 과제들은 단순한 지역 사업을 넘어, 국정 운영 기조와 궤를 같이하는 전략적 안건들”이라며 “대전이 과학기술 수도로서, 또 충청권 핵심 도시로서의 역할을 충실히 수행할 수 있도록 적극적인 정책 반영이 필요하다”고 강조했다.

또한 “향후에도 국정과제화 및 정책 실행과정에서 시 차원의 역할을 다하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
