충남 아산시가 미래차 산업 중심지로의 전환을 위한 중대한 발판을 마련했다. 

아산시에 따르면 과학기술정보통신부가 주관한 ‘충남 천안아산 강소연구개발특구’ 2단계 특화발전 사업에 아산시가 최종 선정되며, 미래차 전장 부품 산업의 고도화와 글로벌 시장 진출 기반 구축이 본격화된다.

이번 2단계 사업은 오는 2026년부터 2030년까지 5년간 진행되며, 국비 100억 원을 포함한 총 200억 원이 투입될 예정이다. 사업은 지속가능한 기술사업화 생태계 조성과 세계 수준의 산업 거점 조성을 목표로 하며, 기술 발굴부터 실증, 글로벌 투자 유치까지 산업 전반에 걸친 맞춤형 지원 체계를 갖출 계획이다.

아산시는 2020년 천안시와 함께 강소연구개발특구로 지정된 이후, 1단계 사업을 통해 괄목할 만한 성과를 창출했다. 한국자동차연구원을 중심으로 연구소기업 33개 설립, 기술이전 107건, 누적 매출 815억 원 등 성과는 초기 목표를 120% 이상 초과 달성하며 전국에서도 우수 사례로 손꼽힌다.

2단계에서는 연구소기업을 35개로 늘리고, 창업 55건, 기술이전 105건, 민간 투자 50억 원 유치, 누적 매출 2390억 원 달성을 목표로 하고 있다. 

특히, 전장 부품 분야의 기술 경쟁력 강화를 위한 수요 맞춤형 지원과 실증 플랫폼 확보를 통해 아산시의 미래 모빌리티 산업 기반이 한층 탄탄해질 전망이다.

이와 더불어 시는 탕정2 도시개발지구 내 약 0.3㎢ 규모의 배후부지를 확장해 R&D 클러스터와 창업기업 입주 공간을 확보할 계획이다. 기술 개발과 기업 간 협력, 그리고 사업화까지의 유기적 연계를 통해 강소특구의 지속적 성장을 견인하겠다는 전략이다.
