대전시 유성구 금고동 주민들이 주민들은 공사로 발생한 소음·분진 피해에 더해, 대전시와 시공사의 무책임한 대응을 강하게 규탄하고 나섰다.

 

대전시 유성구 금고동. 이미 기존의 쓰레기 매립지로 인한 악취 피해로 고통을 겪고 있던 이 지역에 최근 또 다른 악재가 겹쳤다. 

 

대전시가 추진 중인 제2쓰레기매립지 조성과 하수처리장 건설 공사가 한창인 가운데, 인근 주민들이 실질적인 생존권 위협을 호소하며 대응에 나섰다.

 

금고동 환경시설 건설공사 피해대책주민위원회(위원장 최재현, 이하 피해대책위)는 지난 3월 17일부터 현재까지 36일째 시위를 이어오고 있다. 

 

피해대책위에 따르면, 공사현장에서 발생하는 대규모 분진과 소음은 인근 농가의 비닐하우스 작물에 심각한 피해를 주고 있으며, 가축 유산 사례까지 발생한 상황이다.

 

특히 시공을 맡은 한화건설(하수처리장)과 신세계건설(제2매립지)에 대한 주민들의 분노는 거세다. 

 

주민들은 “공사 차량이 지나간 뒤 흙탕물과 먼지가 뒤덮는다”, “비닐하우스 농작물이 오염되어 상품가치가 떨어진다”, “공사 소음으로 가축이 스트레스를 받아 유산했다”는 등 구체적인 피해 사례가 잇따르고 있다고 주장하고 있다.

 

주민들은 시위 현장에서  “공사 차량 흙, 먼지와 흙물 튀지 말라! 신세계건설 각성하라”, “공사 차량 무서워서 못 살겠다! 한화건설 각성하라”, “대전시·도시개발공사·한화건설·신세계건설은 각성하라” 피켓을 들고 외친다.

현재 피해대책위는 분진·소음 등 직접 피해에 대한 공식 조사 및 보상, 공사 차량의 운행 속도 제한 및 운행 시간 규제, 지역 농가·축산 피해 보상대책 마련 등을 요구하고 있다.
