김태흠 충남도지사가 ‘2027 논산세계딸기산업엑스포’에 대한 전폭적인 지원을 약속하며 논산 딸기의 세계화에 앞장서겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.

김 지사는 27일 논산시민가족공원에서 열린 ‘2025 논산딸기축제’ 개막식에 참석해 축제의 시작을 축하하고, 행사에 참여한 국내외 방문객들에게 감사의 인사를 전하면서 이같이 말했다. 

논산딸기축제는 2024∼2025년 문화체육관광부의 예비 문화관광축제로 선정되었으며, 올해 도의 1시군 1품 축제로도 선정되어 1억 원의 도비 지원을 받는 등 대한민국을 대표하는 명품축제로 자리매김하고 있다. 

축제는 오는 30일까지 4일간 진행되며, 딸기 수확 체험과 헬기 탑승 체험 등 다양한 부대행사가 마련되어 있다.

김 지사는 “논산은 딸기농업의 국내 1위로, 시설재배를 통해 축적된 기술과 경험이 있는 명실상부한 ‘딸기’의 본고장”이라며, “지난해 태국과 올해 인도네시아에서 열린 농식품 박람회에서 논산 딸기가 큰 인기를 끌며 해외에서도 그 위상이 높아지고 있다”고 강조했다.

또한, 김 지사는 2027 논산세계딸기산업엑스포 개최 계획을 밝히며 “논산 딸기를 세계적인 상품으로 만들 수 있는 좋은 기회”라고 언급했다. 

김 지사는 “지난 12일 딸기엑스포가 국제행사 심사대상으로 선정되었고, 7월에 최종 승인이 예정되어 있는 만큼 국비를 최대한 확보할 수 있도록 도가 전폭적인 지원을 약속드린다”고 덧붙였다.

2027 논산세계딸기산업엑스포는 2027년 2월 26일부터 3월 21일까지 24일간 논산시민가족공원과 딸기향농촌테마공원 일원에서 ‘케이(K)-베리! 스마트한 농업, 건강한 미래’를 주제로 개최될 예정이다. 

충남도는 엑스포 개최에 따른 지역경제 파급효과는 5000억 원, 고용 유발 효과는 2700여 명으로 예상되며, 목표 관람객 수는 154만 명으로 예상하고 있다.

Governor Kim Tae-heum promises full support for Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo

South Chungcheong Province Governor Kim Tae-heum promised full support for the ‘2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo’ and expressed his will to take the lead in the globalization of Nonsan strawberries.

Governor Kim said this while attending the opening ceremony of the ‘2025 Nonsan Strawberry Festival’ held at Nonsan Citizens’ Family Park on the 27th to celebrate the start of the festival and express his gratitude to domestic and international visitors who participated in the event.

The Nonsan Strawberry Festival was selected as the preliminary cultural tourism festival of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for 2024-2025, and was also selected as the 1st place festival of the 1st city and county of the province this year, receiving 100 million won in provincial support, establishing itself as a prestigious festival representing South Korea.

The festival will be held for 4 days until the 30th, and various side events such as strawberry picking experience and helicopter ride experience are planned.

Governor Kim emphasized, “Nonsan is the number one strawberry farm in Korea, and is the true home of strawberries with accumulated technology and experience through facility cultivation,” and “Nonsan strawberries were very popular at agricultural and food fairs held in Thailand last year and Indonesia this year, and their status is rising overseas as well.”

In addition, Governor Kim announced plans to hold the 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo, saying, “It is a good opportunity to make Nonsan strawberries a global product.”

Governor Kim added, “The Strawberry Expo was selected as an international event review target on the 12th, and final approval is scheduled for July, so I promise the province’s full support to secure as much national funding as possible.”

The 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo will be held for 24 days from February 26 to March 21, 2027 at Nonsan Citizens’ Family Park and Strawberry Rural Theme Park under the title, ‘K-Berry! It is scheduled to be held under the theme of ‘Smart Agriculture, Healthy Future’.

Chungnam Province expects the regional economic ripple effect of hosting the Expo to be 500 billion won, the employment induction effect to be 2,700 people, and the target number of visitors to be 1.54 million.
