대전시가 20일, 시청 대강당에서 ‘2025 세계 물의 날’ 기념행사를 개최했다고 전했다.

이번 행사는 물의 소중함을 알리고 지속 가능한 물 관리의 필요성을 전 세계에 알리기 위해 1992년 UN이 지정한 날을 기념하는 자리로, 정부 차원에서 매년 기념행사를 이어오고 있다.

올해의 주제는 ‘빙하 보존(Glacier Preservation)’으로 설정되었으며, 문창용 대전시 환경국장, 조원휘 대전시의회 의장, 설동호 대전시 교육감 등과 함께 시민, 학생, 물 관련 기관 관계자 등 300여 명이 참석하여 의미 있는 시간을 나누었다.

행사는 물 환경의 중요성을 알리는 주제 영상 상영 ,물사랑 그림·사진 공모전 수상자 시상 ,기념사 및 축사 ,기념 촬영 등으로 진행되었다. 

특히, 이날 시상식에서는 지난 1월부터 진행된 ‘물사랑 그림·사진 공모전’에서 입상한 초등학생 10명과 시민 3명이 환경부장관상, 대전광역시장상, 대전광역시교육감상을 수상했으며, 총 29점의 수상작이 전시되어 시민들의 큰 관심을 끌었다.

대전시는 이번 행사를 통해 물 보존의 중요성을 시민들과 공유하고, 물 관리에 대한 인식을 높이는 계기가 되기를 기대하고 있다.

Daejeon City Holds ‘2025 World Water Day’ Commemoration Ceremony

Daejeon City announced on the 20th that it held a ‘2025 World Water Day’ commemoration ceremony at the City Hall auditorium.

This event commemorates the day designated by the UN in 1992 to inform the world of the importance of water and the need for sustainable water management, and the government has been holding commemorative events every year.

This year’s theme was set as ‘Glacier Preservation’, and around 300 people including Daejeon City Environment Director Moon Chang-yong, Daejeon City Council Chairman Cho Won-hui, Daejeon City Superintendent of Education Seol Dong-ho, citizens, students, and water-related organization officials attended and shared meaningful time.

The event consisted of a thematic video screening to inform the importance of the water environment, an award ceremony for winners of the Water Love Drawing and Photography Contest, commemorative speeches and congratulatory remarks, and a commemorative photo shoot.

In particular, at the awards ceremony held on this day, 10 elementary school students and 3 citizens who won prizes in the ‘Water Love Drawing and Photo Contest’ that has been held since January were awarded the Minister of Environment Award, Daejeon Metropolitan City Mayor Award, and Daejeon Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education Award, and a total of 29 winning works were exhibited, attracting great attention from citizens.

Daejeon City hopes that this event will be an opportunity to share the importance of water conservation with citizens and raise awareness of water management.
