충남 예산군이 오가면과 신암면 지역에서 실시한 상수도 누수탐사에서 시간당 30톤의 물을 절약하는 성과를 거두었다고 밝혔다. 

이번 누수탐사는 지역 내 식품회사인 ㈜로만이 수압 저하로 인한 급수 불량 문제를 겪고 있는 가운데 진행되었으며, 이를 통해 급수 문제를 효과적으로 해결했다.

누수탐사 결과, 상수도 절감량은 월 2만 1600톤, 연간 25만 9200톤에 달하며, 이를 통해 발생하는 절감액은 1톤당 생산원가 1615원을 기준으로 계산할 때 월 3488만 4000원, 연간 총 4억 1860만 8000원에 이르는 것으로 나타났다.

예산군 수도과는 앞으로 전문 누수탐사팀을 운영하여 누수 예방과 유수율 증대를 위한 본격적인 활동에 나설 계획이다. 이 팀은 전문직 1명, 일반직 1명, 일용직 2명 등 총 4명으로 구성될 예정이다.

예산군 관계자는 “전문 탐사 팀을 통해 누수를 사전 예방하고, 야간 최소 유량 감소 및 유수율 향상에 총력을 기울이겠다”고 강조했다. 이번 조치가 지역 주민들에게 안정적인 수돗물 공급에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
