충청남도와 계룡시, 황명선 국회의원실은 13일 한국자연사박물관에서 '국립군사박물관 건립 및 공공기관 유치 심포지엄'을 성공적으로 개최했다. ​

이번 심포지엄에는 이응우 계룡시장, 전형식 충남도 정무부지사, 김범규 계룡시의회 의장, 조한희 한국박물관협회장, 장인경 한국박물관학회장 등 관련 분야 전문가와 시민 등 200여 명이 참석하여 국립군사박물관 건립의 필요성과 재원 조달 방안, 관련 법령 및 제도 정비, 유물 확보 및 박물관 운영 활성화 방안 등에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 진행했다. ​

또한, 공공기관 유치 및 강소연구단지 조성 방안, K-국방컨벤션센터 건립 및 국방 MICE 산업 육성 등 계룡시의 특성을 반영한 다양한 의견이 제시되었다. ​

이응우 시장은 "국방도시 계룡에 대한민국 국군의 역사·문화·미래상을 한눈에 볼 수 있는 국립군사(미래)박물관을 건립하기 위해 행정력을 집중하고 있다"며, "국방 관련 유망 중소기업 육성을 위한 지식산업센터와 K-국방컨벤션센터 건립, 군 운용 적합성 검증 기술 지원사업 등 신산업 육성 사업은 물론 국방 관련 공공기관 유치에도 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다. ​

계룡시는 국립군사박물관 건립을 비롯한 현안 사업의 원활한 추진을 위해 중앙정부, 충남도와의 교류 협력 강화는 물론, 전국민 공감대 형성을 위해 지속적인 노력을 기울일 계획이다.
