태안지역 화력발전소가 올해부터 단계적으로 폐지되는 가운데, 가세로 태안군수가 해상풍력 발전단지 조성 지원과 대체 수소발전소 건설 등 지역 피해 최소화 방안을 정부에 재차 촉구했다.

가 군수는 지난 21일 서울시 종로구 석탄회관에서 열린 ‘석탄발전 전환 협의체’ 제2차 회의에 참석하여, 산업통상자원부 2차관 및 관계부처 관계자, 발전사 임직원, 전문가들과 함께 정부 차원의 적극적인 대책 마련의 필요성을 강조했다.

이번 회의는 지난해 12월 10일에 이어 열린 두 번째 관계기관 회의로, 가 군수는 이전 회의에서 화력발전 대체 발전소 건설, 태안 해상풍력 발전단지 조성 지원, 전력수급 계획에 태안군민들의 의사 반영, 석탄화력발전소 폐지지역 지원 특별법 제정 등을 정부에 건의한 바 있다.
