충남 태안군이 최근 ‘2024년 대한민국 지역경제대상’에서 ‘물가·소비자’ 부문 군부 대상(1위)을 수상하며 지역경제 활성화 및 소비자 보호를 위한 노력을 인정받았다. 

(사)한국지역경제학회와 한국지역경제연구원이 발표한 결과로, 태안군은 전국 17개 광역자치단체와 226개 기초자치단체를 대상으로 한 평가에서 뛰어난 성과를 나타냈다.

이번 평가는 물가·소비자 부문을 포함해 일자리·고용, 기업지원, 골목경제 등 8개 분야에 대한 공식 통계와 정량지표를 기반으로 진행되었다. 

태안군은 지난해 지역 상인들의 협조를 바탕으로 35년 만에 ‘태안 5일장’을 부활시켜 군민과 관광객들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.

또한, 전통시장을 중심으로 다양한 축제와 ‘태안사랑상품권 캐시백 행사’를 통해 소비자들이 저렴한 가격으로 전통시장을 이용할 수 있도록 했다. 

태안군은 물가안정 캠페인을 지속적으로 실시하고, 지역 고용시장 안정화를 위한 직업소개사업자와의 간담회를 통해 지난해 물가 안정 및 지역경제 활성화를 위한 다각적인 노력을 기울인 성과를 인정받았다.

가세로 군수는 “지역 소상공인과 소비자 간 상생, 그리고 지역경제 회복을 위해 힘쓴 노력을 인정받아 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 지역경제의 새로운 미래를 열어갈 수 있도록 군민 여러분과 함께 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다. 

태안군은 앞으로도 고용 확대와 물가안정, 소비 촉진을 위해 다양한 시책과 행사를 마련하고 상인들과의 소통을 강화할 계획이다.

Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, recently won the county grand prize (1st place) in the ‘Prices and Consumers’ category at the ‘2024 Republic of Korea Regional Economic Awards’, receiving recognition for its efforts to vitalize the regional economy and protect consumers.

According to the results announced by the Korea Regional Economic Association and the Korea Regional Economic Research Institute, Taean-gun achieved outstanding results in an evaluation targeting 17 metropolitan and 226 basic autonomous bodies nationwide.

This evaluation was conducted based on official statistics and quantitative indicators for eight areas including the price and consumer sectors, jobs and employment, corporate support, and alley economy.

Last year, Taean-gun revived the ‘Taean 5-day Market’ after 35 years with the cooperation of local merchants, receiving a great response from residents and tourists.

In addition, various festivals and ‘Taean Love Gift Certificate Cashback Events’ centered around traditional markets were held to enable consumers to use traditional markets at low prices.

Taean County has been recognized for its efforts to stabilize prices and vitalize the local economy through its ongoing price stabilization campaign and meetings with job placement agencies to stabilize the local employment market.

Governor Ga Se-ro said, “I am glad that my efforts to promote mutual growth between local small business owners and consumers and to restore the local economy have been recognized,” and added, “I will continue to do my best with the residents to open a new future for the local economy.”

Taean County plans to prepare various policies and events to expand employment, stabilize prices, and promote consumption, and strengthen communication with merchants.
